What we measure for

What we measure for

Odour measurements are carried out to objectively determine odour emissions and to assess the potential odour exposure in the surrounding environment. The results serve as a reliable foundation for permit processes and enforcement, and also for the assessment and optimisation of operational processes. This clarifies whether systems comply with the applicable standards, where odour emissions originate and which measures may effectively reduce emissions and potential odour nuisance.

Performance warranty tests and efficiency measurements

Does an end-of-pipe technique work as agreed? By carrying out performance warranty tests and efficiency measurements, we can objectively assess the performance of emission reduction techniques.

Long-term monitoring

By carrying out long-term measurements, we analyse variations in emissions over longer periods. This allows us to identify patterns, peak emissions and the effects of various process conditions.

Process optimisation

This involves looking beyond just the measured values. Our knowledge of process technologies allows us to apply measurement results to the process. We can assess potential causes of emission peaks and work with our clients to identify ways of optimising processes and limiting emissions.

Verification measurements for public bodies

Public bodies rely on objective information about emissions. To address this need, we carry out independent verification measurements at business premises and emission sources to check that the measured emissions comply with the applicable standards, permit conditions and agreements.

From odour analysis to specific substances: the Odour Lab makes emissions measurable and understandable.
